In 1970, Jeanine and René Fritz, assumed the responsibility for this 18th-century Winstub (traditional Wine-bar in Alsacien). They renovated the Winstub and re-opened it with a new identity as a Hotel-Restaurant. Twenty years later, Patrick and his wife Sophie, accepted the challenge to assume the mantle of the, by then, flourishing family hostelry.
They decided to adopt a harmonious blend of traditional Alsacien hospitality mixed with contemporary style. However, they were insistent on maintaining the homely atmosphere of the hotel but with a continuing emphasis on distinguished service to a demanding local and international clientele. Sophie ensured that the renewed interior provided a homely and cossetted ambience while Patrick transformed his mother`s local Alsacien Cuisine into the Alsacien Gastronomical Fare for which A L'Ami Fritz is known today.
In addition to the renewal of the surroundings, select gastronomy and refined service, the Hotel-Restaurant, A l'Ami Fritz, sits in a beautiful location. Nestled in the village of Ottrott, between the Mount Saint-Odile and Strasbourg, it is also an excellent location for a stop on the `Route du Vin`.
